That's exactly what I'm saying.

How about when Ricky says about the letter from the tattooists that it might say - "Oh, we've used the AIDS needle on you"

Tattooists don't have AIDS needles.
Ribbit, Ribbit. Froggy says buy it.

Two major injustices that never cease to grind my gears. In one, Karl is the victim, in the other, he's the perp.

1) I'm sure this has come up, but it's a long thread. I can't remember them all (as Steve said of Tales of the Unexpected). It's Karl asking "What are the things in Gremlins called?" and Ricky making fun of him for it, when he clearly DOESN'T mean 'Gremlins' (which would be pretty stupid), but 'Mogwai' (the name of the pre-transformed creatures in the films), seeing as how it comes up when they're discussing the similar sounding Mowgli in Jungle Book.

To be fair, Ricky does correct this later in the episode. However, that hasn't stopped him from bringing it up repeatedly in later podcasts, as well as talkshow interviews (Letterman, Stewart and such) as a prime example of Karl's stupidity. Every time it does come up, I want to shout "NOOOO! HE CLEARLY MEANT MOGWAI! YOU KNOW HE MEANT MOGWAI! SHUT UP!!!".

2) This one is less clear, so I'd like to hear your opinions on it. It's not a mistake as much as a blatant lie by Karl. It's during the "Steve and the Whore" link, perhaps the most contentious episode in the long saga of Karl vs. Steve. Basically what happens is Karl slags of Steve's looks, Steve has a go at Karl for having a head that looks like a slightly deflated balloon and Karl 'retaliates' by telling Steve how people on the subway reacted to the way he looked on the XFM poster.

The thing is, even though Karl insists that he 'honestly' wasn't going to bring this up until Steve came out with the balloon-attack, this clearly (to me at least) isn't true. Here's the clip on YouTube, at around 1:25 (right after saying Steve's bad eyes are probably nature's way of saying 'nothing to see here'), Karl clearly starts saying: "And... it's funny right, now that we're on the topic... and... I wasn't...", before Steve interrupts him with "Sorry, Johnny Depp!"

I'm fine with Karl telling the story, but his being so adamant that he wasn't ging to bring it up until Steve 'took a pop' is just so disingenuous it really rubs me the wrong way.

Thoughts?

I agree with you on both subjects. I was gonna say that Ricky corrected himself later as I was reading your first paragraph, but then you reminded me that he brings it up in interviews all the time to emphasize Karl being an idiot.

Also on your second point, it annoys me whenever Karl has a go at Steve's looks, since it's unnecessary and unfair, considering Ricky is the nastiest person in the studio and not once has Karl said "Ricky, you look like a blobby pudding, you fat git." even though he would totally have it coming.

Agreee with both but really don't think either is that big a deal...
If I was listening to me on the radio, I wouldn't be able to say, "oh, he's a...", ya know? And slag me off an' that, 'cause I don't know what I look like, and I quite like that.

Well of course it's all relative to the minor annoyances that are RSK's stock in trade. Like Karl being annoyed by the ant eater being named after its diet.

Every single bloody time during XFM, Extras, or any other time that Steve or Ricky has used the word 'libellous' to describe defamatory verbal comments either one of them has made.

It's not libellous if you say it. If you say something defamatory, it's slander. Libel can only be defamatory comments which are written, so newspapers can commit libel but standup comedians can't.

It's a small point but it still annoys me.

I always get annoyed when Ricky reckons that if we all died in our sleep life would be great. There would be no worry or angst about dying if we all just drifted off dreaming we were riding a big marshmallow ("it would just be your life")...

There would still be all the other stresses and strains of life; work, relationships, money...

And surely in that case you would worry that every time you go to sleep you wouldn't wake up again?

I think I would get pretty stressed about that.

He's wrong to say there would be no stress or worry, since of course there would be, but there wouldn't be as much stress or worry. I mean, we've got all the troubles you listed now, like money, work and such, PLUS there's a chance we'll get hit by a car, or get cancer, or get stabbed, or have an aneurysm.

It's not an opinion that I've ever understood either but it's just an opinion. You can't say it's wrong.
