Karl Pilkington voiceover artist

Postby hobbsy » Sat 27 Dec, 2008 9:13 am

I've searched the forum a few times, so apologies if this has already been posted ... but there is a page for Karl on qvoice.co.uk - "Qvoice is a leading UK voice agency with a prestigious and established client list":
http://www.qvoice.co.uk/qvoiceDetails.asp?id=244

There's a couple of clips of Karl doing adverts and narration... he seems to have toned down his Manc accent on a few of them, and sounds a bit posher

30s Northern
Manchester. Laid-back, almost nonchalant style with a dry, deadpan delivery. Karl has a great range - from nonchalant and laidback to softly spoken to punchy and hard-hitting, and can make the most ordinary, everyday conversation absolutely hilarious. He is a much loved writer, broadcaster and radio producer best known for his thoughtful insights on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's podcasts where his wisdom knows no bounds! Recent v/o work includes The Fratellis: Here We Stand

I'm sure there's some memorable Steve quotes from the podcasts/XFM shows talking about wanting to do voiceovers. (Or Karl forgetting to pass on a message for Steve)

The search feature on here is shit. I think "the pod" will be looking into it since he's just taken over.

I posted about this in the last thread but no one replied so; is it true that Karl makes a mistake in the one about the spiders or insects, I think he says miminal as he does in the episode from series 5(?). It had me gonna burst.

Brillnant. Pilkers should take over from Attenboro.
