It’s a Foodage Short Playlist

Ennio Morricone
Was ok, made me want to hear more, but in a cliffhanger kind of way. 7

Sepultura
Not for me. 4

The Smiths
Really enjoyed. 8

Misfits
Liked them a lot as a teenager. Even went to see them once. Trying to get into Punk aswell. Was going to be an 8 but I’ve already re-listened so gave it a 9.

Nofx
I don’t think I can give that a rating.

Overall 7.5

Jenson Beard

Placebo
Don't know much of them, but know a little. Found this ok but prefer some of their others that I know. 7

Pearl Jam
Same thoughts as the Placebo song. 7

Babybird
Ok but a little bit boring. 7

Led Zeppelin
I enjoyed it, but it didn't hold my attention at all, not as much as I was expecting anyway. 8.5

Chris Meritt
Never heard of him before. Pleasantly surprised by it. Possibly will listen to more of him, but he does sound like someone I wouldn't usually like. 8

Beat Oven

Blink 182
Better than I was expecting. Probably because it wasn't just them singing. 6.5

Bon Iver
Bit boring, but not bad. 6.5

Bombay Bicycle Club
Probably a little bit boring as well. But better than last one. 7

The XX
Heard a lot of hype about these, but from this they just seem really boring (again) 6

The Hurts
Wasn't boring. One of the better ones, but not keen on his voice. 6.5

Mark Pilington's Music Hall Playlist

I'll put a second one up now, in case anyone still visits this thread.
All these songs are going to be Music Hall style (pop/rock) songs, very British sounding.

Wizzard-Jolly Cup Of Tea
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aNkfOThccM
I expect this to get straight Zeroes, but I like it.

Kinks-Mr Pleasant
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_mH9Mdlua0
Generally seem to be getting good feedback in the thread so far, and they're probably the best and most Music Hall-tinged pop/rock band there is.

Supergrass-Mansize Rooster
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37Ry8tX5KJA&ob=av2e

Ian Dury-Sweet Gene Vincent
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCOym2yutD0
Slow first minute or so, but after that a real up tempo lidl number

Small Faces-Lazy Sunday Afternoon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXeRB-3nDR8
Very cockney

Nice and inoffensive.

5/5

Neil Young - Birds
A really beautiful song. Typical Young then.
5/5

Mason Jennings - The Field
Didn't do much for me, but that is understandable give the awesomeness of the previous two songs.

It's the songs that I love right now playlist!

The Mountain Goats - No Children
Really lovely song that is used to brilliant effect on an episode of the stop-motion animation 'Moral Orel' (watch it if you haven't massively under-rated show).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRP6egIEABk

Warpaint - Undertow

Only discovered this band yesterday. They're a little like Portishead, at least this song is. If you like this then I'd recommend the song 'Baby' too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMkqbY0oGKQ

Portishead - Roads

Hell, if you haven't heard this song then the last song reminded me to put it. Beautiful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQYsGWh_vpE

The Raconteurs - Carolina Drama

Not a huge fan of the first album by this band but I thought their second album was really quite good. This is the final song on the album and it tells a good story and is catchy as hell - the end of it always makes me sing a long.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqp12b61pFo

Flipron - A Scoundrel's Apology, Almost

This is a really unknown band for the most part (not helped by a crap band name) but they're really brilliant - especially lyrically. They have three albums and this is from their latest (all albums are different but equally as good). Anyway, this is just a nice piano song (most of their songs are led by guitar and sometimes odd instruments like cheese graters).

I can't find it on Youtube, but go onto here and press 'play' and it plays no problems.

Karl Pilkington - man. moth. ... wait, no just man.

Foo Fighters - Everlong
5/5 Don't really like Foo Fighters, but I've always loved this song

Nirvana - Lake of Fire
5/5 Love that entire album, this is 1 of my favourites off it

Rodrigo y Gabriela - Buster Voodoo

Right, made a bit of an effort 'ere...

Johnny's Playlist

White Stripes - Jolene

Passionate and powerful. Loved it. (What d'ya think that's about Karl?)

9/10

Gutter Twins - Seven Stories Underground

Quite enjoyed it. Haven't heard of either the band or the song, but I'd be interested to see what else they've come up with.

7.5/10

Grinderman - Palaces Of Montezuma

Pretty good. I wasn't too sure about the singer's voice, but it was a decent little tune nonetheless.

7/10

Stone Temple Pilots - Cinnamon

Upbeat and I enjoyed it.

8/10

Chase and Status - End Credits (feat. Plan B)

Didn't like it. Generic beat with dull vocals, I thought.

4/10

Overall: 7.5 - Enjoyed that.

I Wroted's Playlist

The Mountain Goats - No Children

Dunno why, but I really liked it. I think I perhaps the lyrics make it.

9/10

Warpaing - Undertow

Not usually a fan of this sort of song, but I enjoyed the relaxy sounds along with the beaty sounds. Also got better towards the end.

8/10

Portishead - Roads

Admittedly beautiful, but I always have a nagging feeling of indifference towards Portishead songs. I don't think I'm the right person to appreciate them.

7/10

The Raconteurs - Carolina Drama

Been listening to a bit of Raconteurs on Spotify recently. Anyway, haven't heard this one but really enjoyed it.

8.5/10

Flipron - A Scoundrel's Apology, Almost

Enjoyed it. As you say, it was very good lyrically, and it was a nice upbeat tune.

8.5/10

Overall: 8/10 - Aye, that was good.

LegoOfThemBricks' Playlist

Tom Waits - Martha

Never really listened to Tom Waits before. It was alright, and the piano was lovely but I wasn't overly keen on it.

6.5/10

Johnny Flynn - Tickle Me Pink

Interesting. Had a slightly off-putting 'hootenanny' feel about it, but otherwise an enjoyable tune.

7.5/10

Kimya Dawson - The Beer

Dark (which I'm always a fan of) and strangely likeable.

8.5/10

Belle & Sebastian - Seeing Other People

Yeah, it was alright. I kinda phased out whilst I was listening to it, so perhaps I need to give it another go.

7/10

Future Islands - Tin Man

Energetic and cool. I haven't the faintest what the guy was grouching about, but that didn't matter.

8/10

Overall: 7/10 - Yeah, that was good.

Dam Helder's Playlist

Pendulum - Propane Nightmares

Already a big fan of this song. Must get the album.

8.5/10

CKY - Flesh Into Gear

Liked it. It was all rocky 'n' that, and that's good. Naw, srsly the beat was good and it never went over the top. Enjoyed it.

7.5/10

Coheed & Cambria - Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial)

Although it had a really fantastic guitar riff, I think the vocals ruined it a bit. I dunno. Parts of it were good, but I wasn't a big fan of the finished product.

6.5/10

Radiohead - Planet Telex

Love it. Really started to get into The Bends recently. This is a solid opener, and Thom Yorke's vocals are just perfect.

9/10

Pearl Jam - Jeremy

Preaching to the converted again. Ten is easily one of my favourite ever albums, and Jeremy is a song it would suffer without.

9/10

Overall: 8/10 - Aye, enjoyed that.

Now I've listened to all those (Thanks - Good songs in that lot), why not listen to some of my shit?

Chris Merritt - The Turing Machine

I know I posted some Merritt before, but he's worth an extra push. This song is a bit different to most of his stuff. It starts out as an enjoyable and melodic piano tune before turning into something else towards the end. Really great. Although apparently it's about some scientist? Just ignore that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etYd60CoQuM

Radiohead - Just

I apologise DH, but this song has to be posted too. I love Just. The Bends may have only been on my radar a few months, but I'm fairly certain this is one of my favourite songs of all time. The video is brilliant too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIFLtNYI3Ls

Pulp - Sunrise

I don't think this song is very well known, but it's a great effort from Pulp. Guitary bit is awesome. (Oh yeah, it was on Monkeydust apparently. If anyone remembers that show.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj3pTr4MwM4

Prince - Purple Rain

A true classic. Prince has a great voice and the guitar in this is fantastic. It's a long one though, but you can probably ignore the last two minutes or so.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtrQK8Zqj-g

Moby - Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?

Moby doesn't normally do it for me, but this song has an atmosphere that's compelling.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bJ6-FKTIwA
"Do you want a sandwich? Here's a sandwich". And then next year "Can I have a sandwich?" "What happened to your brother?" "He died."
