Bong! Metal news.

The Black Sabbath reuniting rumour mill is still turning, Tony Iommi has now revealed the band have rehearsed together and may still reunite.

The Metallica/Lou Reed 'Lulu' album is now available to stream in full online.
http://www.loureedmetallica.com/listen-to-lulu.php
After listening to more of the album... Some of the music is actually not that bad, I just wish Lou Reed would shut the fuck up talking over it, this isn't because I "only like metal" or anything like that, it's just that his vocals suck. I'd rather have an instrumental Metallica album.

Osmium Guillotine have 3 new songs online if anyone cares to give 'um a listen.

Some good metal albums I've been listening to recently include worth giving a listen:

Wolf - Legions of Bastards

Saxon - A Call to Arms

Anvil - Juggernaut of Justice

Dream Theater - A Dramatic Turn of Events

Symphony X - Iconoclast

I hope that BS reunion news is BS.

Personally I'd actually quite like to see it happen just out of curiosity more than anything, if they actually wrote some new material with the original line-up as has been rumoured.
It's been over 40 years since the original band first formed but Iommi and Butler have proven through Heaven and Hell and other recent projects that they've still got it in 'em, and now they're at a creative loose-end since Dio died, it'd be interesting to see what they could come up with Ozzy, whose last couple of solo efforts have also been pretty good.
Realistically though if it happens I imagine they'll probably just do a few festival appearances of 'greatest hits' sets and then split up again.

So sabbath and metallica for download festival. looks interesting. Hope they dont fuck up the poster by having some bullet for my valentine style crap for the 3rd headliner. Wasn't planning a metal festival next year but I'm interested now.

I reckon they probably will. They've always gotta have something for the Kerrang reading kiddies. It would be awesome if they actually pulled another big legendary metal band out of the bag (Iron Maiden, for one example... ) as that would be an amazing trio of headliners. It is the 10th anniversary of Download Festival, so they've gotta do something special.

Would rather metallica didn't play black though. Don't like that album.

Nah, it's not my favourite at all. I don't dislike it, just think it's way overrated and has too much filler to fully justify the praise. Still, be nice to see them play songs I've never seen them play, rather than the same/similar set-list as their last few shows. Saw them headline Download in 2006 when they played 'Master of Puppets' in it's entirety, now that was awesome.

I think The Prodigy put on a great show, saw them at Reading (not headlining). They just don't seem big enough to sit alongside Sabbath and Metallica. Would have been a great sub headliner I think. Don't think they can pull off headlining Download at all.

My thoughts exactly.
I like the Prodigy, seen 'em live a few times (once was in my home town of Braintree where they originated) and yeah they do put on a great show (not really a fan of any of their "recent" ((post-millenium)) stuff though) but they seem to me a very random selection to headline the main stage of rock/metal festival, alongside 2 of the biggest heavy metal bands in the world.

Second stage headliners, fair enough. I can only think the organisers must've blown their budget on the first 2 bands...
