Live shows - music/comedy/festivals etc...

Postby ike » Fri 27 Feb, 2009 8:26 pm

I've noticed a few people here mentioning some bands they've gone to see, or are seeing in the near future. So thought it'd be good to start a thread about.

I try to go to as many gigs as my money and free time will allow me. The last concert I went to was last Saturday at Wembley Arena: 'Priest Feast' (Judas Priest / Megadeth / Testament) which was awesome, had standing tickets and got to the front barrier.

This coming Monday I'm seeing Metallica (Supported by Machine Head) at the O2, and then the following Saturday (7th March) I'll be seeing Steve Merchant doing stand-up which I'm looking forward to, as I've never even seen any of his stand-up act before.

I just found out one of my favorite bands, Dream Theater, are playing the Southampton Guildhall (I live in southampton) in June, and it feels like literally the best news I've ever had.

Dream Theater have announced UK tour dates?

They're one of my favourite bands too.

Some bands I'd like to see, that I haven't seen yet or don't have plans to see this year: Tenacious D, Airbourne, Manowar, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, The Who

My "Wishful thinking" bands to see:
Spinal Tap if they do a tour to support their new album which is due this year to celebrate the movie's 25th Anniversary.
Led Zeppelin if the original line-up ever do re-form again (Tried to get tickets when they played the O2 but they were like gold dust)
The classic Guns N' Roses line-up.

I was at that gig at the Hammersmith Apollo. Loved the Dark Side of the Moon encore.

They released a DVD of the Hammersmith 'Dark Side of the Moon' performance on www.ytsejamrecords.com

Ace. Didn't know they'd been added to the line-up.

Def Leppard, Whitesnake and ZZ Top are three bands I haven't already seen so I'm looking forward to them most. Mötley Crue were awesome live when I saw them at download a couple of years ago so I'll definately watch them again.
As for Limp Bizkit.. Err, I'm not that bothered, but I'll probably watch them for nostalgic reasons (unless they clash with a band I really wanna see)

Hmm - Where's that? I wasn't aware there were any confirmed shows, or is it some sort of special preview gig?
