Tell me about it :/
What's the most you've spent on one? I bought a Zildjian Avedis 18" crash a couple years back for $440 (£200), it was a terrifying purchase. Sounds great though, so it was worth it I guess.

Yeah I've not gone as high as £200, generally I've gone for the mid-range ones, I think about £110 was the most which sound much better than the shitty cheap ones I had before but obviously not as awesome as the ludicrously expensive ones out there.

Most money I've spent on one individual drum-item was the Iron Cobra doule-kick pedal which was close to £300! (Ironically I don't need the "double" add-on now I have two bass drums..... But I do still use it as a single pedal for the right drum, and if we ever play a gig where I only bring half the kit I can use it as a double. It's earnt it's money though, it's sturdy as fuck and sounds ace... I kept breaking the cheapy ones I had before.

Did it take long to learn to play double kicks? I've never really needed them with the kind of music I play, but I've always wondered how hard it is to learn.

Well I only started playing the drums last May and I got myself a cheap double-kick pedal a couple of months after that so I've pretty much always had them, they are pretty damn hard to learn though so I've just been gradually sticking them in here and there and gradually getting used to them, I still need a lot more work with them, for some reason using a double-bass drum instead of a double-kick pedal on one bass drum feels so much easier and natural.

I use them in the chorus on this song we recorded in April;

Yo,

As some of you (the cool ones) will know, I've managed to get on the official Doves cover album that's being released to raise money for some dying kids or something. I've finished my track now (Ambition), and I'm gonna try and pop it up somewhere for y'all to hear if I'm allowed, if any of you care. It IS in order to save some fucking lives after all.

Yes Cally I believe it is! I got into it via Twitter though, so I didn't have much info fed to me via the message boards or whatever. But the band are right behind it which is velly exciting!

The secret with bass is to channel the soul of a black man and get the funk pulsing through your fingers.

Nice work Bitty.

Brief Osmium Guillotine news:

Barbora (the girl on guitar) is out. She's 16 now and therefore of legal age, this is of no use to me.
We have now got a new guitarist called LANCE STEELE. That actually is his real name. As soon as I heard his name I said he could join the band, before I'd even seen him play.

We've got some upcoming gigs including supporting Splodgenessabounds (again) and John Otway (again).

Change the bands name to "Lance Steele". Do it now.
