I actually prefer that album to Oasis stuff, but then I never was much of an Oasis fan.

Ben Howard - Every Kingdom

Beach bum Howard's debut album is a prime example of folk-pop, so is he the UK's answer to Jack Johnson?

This album is currently one of my favourites, the music is delectable and the husky voice of Howard betrays his youth. There is a song for nearly every mood with "Old Pine" for while you're reminiscing to "Keep Your Head Up" for if you need an audio pick me up.

If you like Bon Iver, James Blake or Benjamin Francis Leftwych then you either already like Howard or you soon will. The simple stripped away acoustic and raw voice should keep this lad in surfboards for a few years yet.

Burial - Kindred EP

I know it's not an album, but this is just too good not to put in here. This is back to his Untrue form. His collaboration with Four Tet was ok, and Street Halo was enjoyable, but this is finally back to his best. Very much similar sounds to that of Untrue, but he has done enough for it not to be too much of the same thing in my opinion. Love it.

Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball (2012)
Not like a expected, was hoping for a riproaring beast of an album like the title may have suggested, but rather it's more of a worldly sounding album with more soft moments and the occasional belter. Studio version of Land of Hopes and Dreams is ***** stuff. Death to My Hometown was the standout on the first listen. Can't wait to see him live in July.

Downloaded Street Halo and Kindred together today. Really like the tracks Street Halo and Loner, I guess because they're so akin to Raver. The rest is less immediate but hoping it will grow on me. Ashtray Wasp uses the same sample as one of his previous tracks, anyone place it for me?

The Mars Volta - Noctourniquet
Fucking loving it. Definitely worth the wait, did not disappoint. Sounds quite different to some of their other stuff, but then I guess every new album they bring out sounds fairly different. New drummer seems good, there's much more interesting drum parts than the previous couple albums. Hope they come back here for this tour.

Always been a fan of Lanegan, be it his work with the Trees, Mad Season, Gutter Twins, Isobel, QoTSA, Soulsavers or his solo stuff, but this is just supreme. Was a bit put off when I heard there was synthy sounding stuff on it, but by god how wrong I was to doubt, just wonderful.

If you like shoegaze this is essential listening. Can't summarize it much more... nothing groundbreaking, but just a solid, catchy, dense album that contains everything good about the genre.

Meh... I prefer the original (and no more) V8.

PS: I think "Destrucción" have a good lyrics to OG's cover... *cof* cof*
