listened to this after foodage posted about it in that bootiful song thread
it is good but very loose
the step between this and 'for emma' is about the same as the step between 'for emma' and 'bon iver' in terms of songwriting and production

The Black Keys - El Camino

I know I'm late to the party with these guys but I went off a lot of guitar music so haven't really bothered checking out even the big names. This is class though. Love love love it.

First bit is a bit unmemorable on first listen through, picks up a lot in the middle and then sort of peters out.

Check out: Deth Starr, The Ballad of Hollywood Jack and The Rage Kage, Throwdown & They Fucked Our Asses.

Enjoyed it a lot more when I listened to it again in it's entirety at work today. Prob a 7/8.

Really good follow up to 'Splazsh'. I have to say this is a bit of an acquired taste. I'm not saying that to sound elitist, I just mean that I understand if others find this type of music a pile of shit.

My favourite track from the album:

Refreshingly accessible Icelandic music that sounds like a more dreamy version of Mumford and Sons. Pleasant, eminently listenable but there's nothing challenging here.

I don't like being so brief with reviews, but I'll give it a go, anyway.

Beautiful debut from a British band. One of my favorites from this year. If you like folk rock chock full of vocal harmonies, you'll probably want to check this out.
