Emily Blunt & Ricky Gervais Join The Cast Of Jason Segel’s ‘

Rather than making a new thread, I thought I'd bump this.

Picked up The Muppets on blu-ray yesterday and gave the deleted scenes a watch, saw Gervais's cameo.

It was funny, but was best left cut (mainly because the scenes without Gervais stretched on too long, plus Billy Crystal is creepy to look at nowadays).

It starts off with Ricky in a limo heading to the Oscars. There's a funny bit where he talks about how he couldn't have gotten an Oscar for his work on Night at the Museum as it was just a little cameo for a stupid kids movie, then he looks at the camera in a uncomfortable David Brent sort of way. He gets out of the limo and Animal and other Muppets greet him. He heads to a table where Scooter gives him an old sports trophy, telling him it's an Oscar and accepting it means Gervais has to host their telethon. Kathy Griffin then appears and they do the same shtick to her (giving her a dog show trophy). Billy Crystal and some cops appear and Billy breaks up the fake Oscar ceremony. Theres a bit where Crystal interacts with a Crystal look-a-like who was working with the Muppets and their Oscar scheme. Gervais appears again and Griffin runs off with her fake Oscar saying it's the closest she'll ever get to an Oscar.

Apparently, Gervais is also in the musical number at the end but I didn't look for him yet.
