I love the "I know I'm going to hate it therefore I'm not going to watch it" argument.

Just watch it, it's part of the episode. It's not a closeup of a finger going in Karl's arse. If you don't like it, well, you don't like it. It's not like you've invested time, money or energy into seeing whether or not you'll like it.

Conversely, why's it matter if someone skips it? It's just Gervais cackling while Karl gets a prostate exam. Why's it matter that some people didn't find that funny? Hardly a big deal.

Well, in the "INDIA" episode of the first series there was a close-up of a man twisting his penis. Did anyone complain about that? Surely, that's more unsettling for someone who is easily grossed-out (not my case).

I found the prostate bit to be funny and in the same vein as the other stuff they usually do. In fact, they did a radio skecth a few years back on the same subject (same joke, as well):

I think it's more so the invasion of Karl's privacy that people seem to have a problem with.

I'm pretty sure Karl knew they were filming that bit. Who buys that "hidden-camera" scenario? Do any of you really think that was spontaneous?

And even if he wasn't aware of the camera, he must have agreed to letting them broadcast it after he found out. So, if it's okay with him, what's the problem? Quoting Gobbler: "I don't get it".

I think Karl knew it was being filmed tbf. I thought the final episode was funny as fuck! The prostate bit and the Pilko pants bit made me cry with laughter

I loved Karl with Chas and Dave. I made my dad play this vinyl he had of Chas and Dave over and over when I was a kid. Absolutely loved them. Seeing that took me back. It was a nice ending.

Of course Karl knew it was being filmed, without a doubt. He even said something to the effect of "I'm not sure this is what people are paying their Sky subscription for is it...? In HD."

There';s some good lines from Karl during it all. The questions he asks the doctor before and after..and some during.

Yeah, it's Karl's reactions and comments that made the whole thing funny for me, more than Ricky and Steve's.

however karl actually having it doen on camera and his chat with the doctor was well funny and nealry justified it.

Karl really showed he's a genuine wit, he's pretty quick with perfectly formed little jokes.
Pretty lovely end to wrap it all up.
