Ricky's been active on Twitter the last couple of hours so now might be a good time to send him the tweets.

Ricky: What do you mean, they've got a chicken with teeth? What the FFF - what do you mean there's a chicken with teeth!

Karl: Sounds mad, dunnit.

Aww, he used to love Pilkipedia as well:
The Guardian wrote:Even the mention of Karl's name starts Ricky Gervais giggling. At one point he breaks from the interview to consult his favourite website, Pilkipedia - an online encyclopaedia dedicated to his friend - and begins reading out, between fits of high pitched laughter, facts and quotes about his mate such as "He learned at school that Jaffa Cakes go some way to curing cancer." And "Jellyfish are 97% water. We should give them another 3% and make them water. It angers me."

Manhole Cover wrote:He's still a very funny guy (obviously), and I find the claims of how he has changed as a person mostly as pretentious, as none of us *actually* know him.

Yeah, I agree. I can imagine Karl reading threads like "Ricky Gervais' Arrogance" or whatever it was called and getting annoyed. Any 'arrogance' is probably just a front, I doubt he's changed at all with his mates...

As many have mentioned, it's likely that the saying Steve mentioned, "fame is a mask that eats into the face ", was ominous. Unless he has changed only his public persona while staying the same in private, as you mentioned... but that's a stretch. More likely that the truth is what it seems. Occam's razor an' that

Well this seemed to be fitting here, Ricky just posted it on his blog.

It's his interpretation of forums.

I like Ricky but the way he questions everyone's opinions is getting annoying now

I don't know what forum in their right mind would have that as the default font

Oh c'mon Ricky, we want to like you, and deep down we do.

He must have a lot of spare time on his hands. All the same, If he has to focus his hate mongering rants on someone I'd rather it was his most long time loyal supporters than some random and irrelevant fundo Christians. That was getting very boring indeed.

It must be so awesome to have such a high opinion of yourself that you can instantly dismiss, through broad and ignorant jibes, the validity any opinion that questions your own.

Ricky Gervais
You Twonks are not like forum losers at all. I engage with you. I have not visited a so called fan site in 3 years maybe. So incestuous.

So he hasnt visited the site in about 3 years, but he managed to make a photo using the forums exact layout, a couple of days ago ?

I don't know if I have the right to say stuff like this being a newbie maybe I should just keep my mouth shut but I understand where he's coming from. Some of the posts are not just a critique of his work but stuff like 'I want to punch him' etc. It must be a bit upsetting to read that on a fan site. Just saying.....

I don't know where to start with that blog post. It just seems so petty and lame. I've also never seen anyone say The Office was a fluke, change their mind on it being a great show, or wish Extras was more similar to it.

Ricky, if you're reading this, we disliked Life's Too Short and The Invention of Lying because they didn't entertain us, not because we're closed minded. It's as simple as that.

He clearly HAS visited a fan site much more recently than 3 years ago, otherwise he wouldn't have got the idea that people on them were slagging off his recent work.
If I was listening to me on the radio, I wouldn't be able to say, "oh, he's a...", ya know? And slag me off an' that, 'cause I don't know what I look like, and I quite like that.

Sarah Kearns
@rickygervais You are awesome for blatantly insulting the americans to their faces and having them laugh at themselves. Bloody genius mate!

andrea earnshaw
@rickygervais your laugh is about to top a uk poll for most outrageous laugh!! #loverickyslaugh

Andy Tilson
Watching @rickygervais science, brilliant!

Micky lad

Nene
@rickygervais I love being a Ricky Gervais "twonk"!! :))

They are obviously the type of followers that ricky prefers
Sure it may seem trendy to hate on some of rickys work, and sure we may over-react, but i'd rather be an honest fan than some of these twitter folk

Did he delete that tweet saying that he knew his twitter followers weren't in the same class as 'forum losers' and that he hadn't been on a fansite in 3 years?

An interesting Sunday morning

Hi Ricky! Calm down why are you so anxious?
Don't be annoyed when Ricky annoys you. It will only make him stronger.
