Cheers for the kind comments everyone,

It would be an accomplishment to catch the attention of Ricky or Steve, but trying to promote it to them using the most obvious channels such as Twitter is like taking potshots at a passing plane, given the volume of noise surrounding them.

I am heavily contemplating making Ricky and Steve pieces to match Karl, as I can imagine that it would really bring it up to a higher level and be quite a fashionable wall item for the ultrafan.

I do use twitter solely to speak out about the Dicetraits thing, it's https://twitter.com/dicetraitdan
I have also made a facebook thingy for it so that it's not lost amongst any other chatter about unrelated things on my personal page: http://www.facebook.com/DicetraitsHomeOfTheKarlPilkingtonDicePortrait

Of course the true shop-front so to speak will still be the site http://www.dicetraits.com

I appreciate all the good comments, and I will periodically update this chapter when there's something to show for it. Until then...

When Ricky gets into one of his Tweeting moods, usually arguing, tweet him & he'll probably see it. Amazing work by the way.
Chinchilla: If I had you as a son I would obviously be devastated.
Marsy: Makes me so goddamn angry I want to squish him.
Dam Helder: You make Stevey look like ScottHanson.
ScottHanson: Great hair, great lad.

Just a little update, everyone. Saw an ad in the paper about an open art exhibition in coventry at the Herbert gallery and museum. Got Pilkingdice down there last saturday on the entry day and put him up for selection. I figured that he stood a great chance on the grounds of sheer uniqueness and experimentation.

Got a letter today saying it's not been picked to go up. I'm off down there this saturday to collect it. I would have been excited to have seen him up on the wall at a bonafide gallery, local enough for anyone to see it if they were popping through Cov.

Dunno what's in store for KP now. I've had soooo many comments from people complimenting the sheer madness and effort that went into him. I dunno what the successful entrants had to do to get picked, but I hope they had towels to clean up afterwards.

Dejected.

Have you tried contacting Ricky or any of his 'people' yet? Probably your best bet is if he were to share it either via Twitter or blog, some Karl-obsessed nutter with enough money might wanna buy it.

I am currently using twitter as my best medium for trying to get the word out to those particular influential people, but I am being careful to keep off that line that seperates reaching out and simply spamming. I am on twitter as @dicetraitdan

Why "dice" instead of "die"? Killing me.

As grammatically correct as it is, "Die portrait of Karl" just sounds weird.

Don't worry DannyLee, some galleries are just really sniffy about things that aren't traditional. Keep trying- and one of them is bound to accept your artwork.
Getting it in a gallery would be so great. Keep at it. :)
