And then we come to series 2...the golden era.

CONTROVERSIAL.

First one is hated by many, second one featuring now Karl.

Matter of interest , why do people hate that episode? I think its brilliant. It probably isn't the best but that one stands out. As I said.... so much to choose from.

This is an audio clip from the 17th of May 2003 show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBQNCWn9SD8

About 30 seconds in, Steve very angrily tells Ricky to 'SHUT UP' after he says something about someone called Hailey. Does anyone have any idea what this is about?

I think he was just being boring and Steve was a bit fed up that day.

He is proper mad though. The only time I think he was angrier is on the 1998 tapes 1.B about 11 mins arguing about superman or something.

Because someone e-mailed in before this clip asking if "Hailey" would go to see Xmen with him.

i love how by the end of the year in the episodes for the late 40s Karl always comes in on a stresshead, and sure he finally snaps around 47 or so.

For me, the last half of this series is the absolute pinnacle of Ricky/Steve/Karl material. Rockbusters and Monkey News are in their prime, Karl is absolutely vicious with Steve, and Ricky is just unrelenting in his torture of Karl. You can feel the exasperation and even hatred in Karl's voice over the last few eps. Thank god for Monday's off or we might never have heard from him again.

I'm currently going through that section now and you are right. It is fantastic.

I feel like this has been discussed before, but does everybody's copy of 2003-02-08 cut off at the 38th minute?

n/m I found a complete one. mine was 53:34 as well but at 38:11 it would cut off.

Just a heads-up to the Wiki-people,
on the Downloads page for this show, the Sendspace link (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ihij6w) is the bad file. I tried one of the Rapidshares and got a good one.
