Oops! Apologies. Didn't think it through. Just to be clear, when I said, "Might get taken down soon, so watch while you can", I meant from YouTube, not this place. Anyway, it won't happen again, guv'nor.

With the money I've saved by not actually being able to go and watch Cemetery Junction at the cinema now it's no longer showing, I might buy Invention of Lying on DVD and give that a re-watch instead.

The money you don't make, you save by not having to get someone else to watch it.

I watched it for the first time tonight, and I have to say it's not as bad as it was made out to be by certain critics. There's some funny moments and it's a nice story overall. The scene with his Mum dying was really touching as well.

Overall, a better watch than I expected. Perhaps having those low expectations made it a bit better.

This was the only bit i enjoyed. Well, enjoyed is probably the wrong word but you know what i mean.
From the critic reviews i read most of em liked it. As soon as i saw the trailor i was worried that it'd just be mostly people being truthful to peoples faces and that's all it seemed to be for me.
I also really disliked the bit at the end outside the church where it was clearly leading to a moment where RG and JG should've kissed, yet i knew Ricky wouldn't write a kissing scene for himself, and when this materialized it was just terrible in every way. Sure a kissing scene would've been cliched, but you sorta have to replace it with something else, not just nothing. Well you can, but not when you actually leave a gap for a kiss to happen and then just have the camera pan up to the church steeple. Really irked me that bit. Also cause RG kissing JG would've made me laugh more than the rest of the film put together. I did laugh a few times, but they were limp chuckles and it wouldn't been more than 5 times.

This is the first time i think i've actually talked about this film after watching it at the start of the year. I've simply refused to talk about it before now.
Except to the eye of love sir, one Aberdeen Terrier is much like another.

I hated that scene, so forced and melodramatic. "Oh look I can cry, I'm an actor"

Saw it tonight on HBO. Enjoyed it. Liked Ed Norton's cameo and other stuff as well. And that's all I have to say about that.

Loved the film, thought it was hilarious and original.

The 1st time I heard of it I did wonder how they would pull it off and make this work for over an hour but after seeing a preview on Film Flex I went for it and was quite happy with my purchase.

For all my positivity in here, I do have to say the romance side of the film really bugs me, because the woman (forgotten her name) is such a hateful character. And it's that scene where he gives the speech on things he loves about her, then she goes and just says 'you've got a pug nosed face' or whatever, and I was sat there thinking 'just go find some other woman...'
If you didn't spend so much time squeezing his head, and eating pies, we might get something done!
