Hamish And Andy Podcast Archive?

Hey everyone, I just want to say Thank You soo much for this archive! Ive listened since the beginning but didnt have all the podcasts. Ive got some really good news for those looking for the 2006 podcasts - Ive got around 500 of them! I need your guys help to get some sort of order with them though! The secret is that Austereo moved the old podcasts over to the new server when they left the foxfm one. For example http://austereo.castmetrix.net/podcast/ ... Bestof.mp3 will be a link to a 2006 podcast. Then if you change the last number by 1 you will get the next podcast! E.g. http://austereo.castmetrix.net/podcast/ ... Bestof.mp3

I dont know how far it goes but they do have a title when you download them so we can try to order them and we need to work fast incase Austereo notices massive amounts of downloads coming from the old podcasts and decides to take them off!

Ive got from 430-700 so if people want to start working on the earlier or later ones it would be much appreciated! I could always upload those ones if they get taken off

P.s. Katiusmaximus - were you at the Sydney TYT? I remember someone telling me they were in the wooden snake video :)

The podcasts are the best - theres interviews with Megan Gale before Andy was going out with her!
It was so worth the long days wait - we were there at 7 and in the ront row. To top it all off we won the trip to Melbourne!

P.S Does anyone have the early 2007 podcast of when Hamish tells the listeners about Andy/Megan? I really want it - it'd be hilarious!

I couldnt believe it when I won it. Ive had to stream them since 2006 because we didn't get them on the radio down the coast and It was the best way to finish the five year journey! The Jetstar starclass seats were also so much better than were they got to sit at the Sydney show. We even went to the Fox FM studios beforehand to meet the boys and get photos.

Yeah, I felt bad for the starclass people at Sydney - their seats were nowhere near as good as they should have been!

Awesome, thanks for this dean_aus. I've been trying to find podcasts that way for a while, but to no avail. I downloaded from 202 - 879, the rest seem to either be dead or other shows from austerio after that, do you know if there is other ones on there we can find by changing other numbers. I think we might be there now, all of 2007-2009 are up, now we just have to work out all these unknown podcasts.

P.s. I've noticed heaps of people on here boasting about winning the trips to shows with Jetstar. If you didn't win it don't worry, because I won it in Brisbane (to go to Sydney) and it was rubbish, basically it was just waiting around all day and then when we got there we couldn't even see. The best part was meeting the boys at the beginning of the day, but that was just for half an hour.

P.s. How did you download them? DId you do a list in download accelerator?

The last digits change too much in these ones but theyre all online anyway so theres really no need to get them.

Here's something that might be helpful: Podcast Alley's page for the old podcast. It contains the titles, old URLs, file sizes, and dates of all files in the old podcast. Note that the dates are only the dates that the files were added to the podcast, not necessarily the dates they originally aired.

I cross-referenced this data with the titles of all of the available 2006 podcasts (from 272 to 879), to come up with the date that each of these files was added. From there, we might be able to figure out when everything originally aired. Here's a spreadsheet with the URLs, titles and date-added for the podcasts. There are quite a few gaps in the date-added column -- the only ones with a date listed are those where the title matched exactly. Feel free to edit in any more dates.

I also went through all of the "Best of" podcasts, and figured out the date they originally aired (spreadsheet). Adding these to the podcasts already at hamishandandyarchive.com, we now have 52 "best of" podcasts.

Something else worth noting - eight of the podcasts are actually video podcasts (mp4 files).

Wow it seems gilbarc's got it all sorted for everyone, cheers. Sorry dean_aus, I did it the hard way and downloaded them singly with download helper in firefox (it took ages). But I could probably upload them all in a rar file to megaupload or humyo tomorrow if a few people want me to.

Thanks glibarc, you have got this sorted. The easiest way to download them is to copy all of the URLS into a text document then use download accelerator plus (free) and open a list to download :)

I also want to let you know that this is not the complete 2006 collection as I have 1 podcast from the 4th May 2006. (I kept it from 5 years ago) Im hoping they were copied over to the new server though so we'll have to keep trying to find them.

Another thing I forgot to mention -- I also found a few more 2006 podcasts at archive.org, specifically the 7th and 8th of June, as well as clips from the 6th of June.

Also, this is the oldest podcast file (as in the actual RSS feed) I can find on archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/200604141746 ... d_andy.xml
So the podcasts go at least as far back as April 5.


Edit: By the way, Botfighter, would you be able to upload the Couch Party to somewhere other than humyo? I don't have an account, and by the looks of it, it's not possible to sign up anymore. Maybe Dropbox?

Ive been searching for more of the earlier 2006 podcasts with no luck. Im not sure if this will help, but with the 2007 URL's they are all over the place - they start at the end of the 2006 podcasts with 24874 and then jump to 26279 three days later. They then jump to the 30000's. Heres the link where I found the 2006 links if this helps:

Also another tip when searching is to not only search archives for fox.com.au, but search all the other stations e.g. safm, 929, 2day, b105, etc as they all have different archived pages.

Also another side-note, do we have a podcast from 2007 of not-a-fan ben, I think that might be one of the one's missing at the start. Theres some dead links on the archive of fox fm to the audio.
