Crass or Pretentious version?

Rihanna - Loud
Her best yet. Great pop anthems.
7/10

Ellie Goulding - Bright Lights
Loooooove it. Very samey in places though.
8/10

Tinie Tempah - Disc-overy
Doing the pop/hip hop deal much better than B.O.B.
8/10
IRC mainstay. The 'C' stands for cuddles.

Radiohead - The King of Limbs (2011)
Hard not to like, surprisingly. I was expecting a smug album. But what is here, is a sweet and luscious sounding album, and while not being a classic or masterpiece (really short and only 8 tracks), containing some beautiful and wonderfully well composed tracks. Yorke's voice is impeccable as per usual. And there are hints of a Sigur Ros and a Massive Attack style influence, two bands that are better than most to take influence from.
8/10

Yeah, really. Give Up the Ghost sounds like Sigur, and Massive Attack are recognized under the genre of electronic.

All Eternals Deck - The Mountain Goats

Not sure...but it's very "listenable" and lyrically, from what I can be bothered with at the moment, it's fabulous - as one would expect from my future husband. This album's timing is a bit perfect for me, too.

8/10 at the minute, I guess.

Best. Review. Ever.
How's the environment going? Well, can we clean it up a bit?!?

R.E.M. - Collapse into Now
This is a great band right here. Probably their best effort in 10 years, full of wonderfully catchy tunes and the darker stuff like the immensely amazing Blue hit all the right notes. Also standing out are Walk It Back, Oh My Heart and Discoverer.

The Strokes - Angles
Seems really great from the first listen. Sounds really new and refreshing, plus I think it sounds a bit more like Julian's solo work, which is good imo.

needed to take a sec to rant and rave about Kurt Vile's new record Smoke Ring For My Halo. I sit back and crank this album so loud and I'm awash in all these gloriously bright guitars on top of dark, brooding lyrics and it's just too perfect for me. my new favorite album of 2011!

just pick one

Gave this a relisten for the first time in years, and it's better than I remembered. Some tracks are a bit blah, but there's none that I would call duds and Araya hasn't sounded this angry in a long time. Paul Bostaph goes absolutely nuts on the doublekicks, great way to end his tenure with the band.
Jeff's Garage. Cheaper than some other garages.

Not crazy about the new 'harder' sound, even though I accept they had to do something different. Favourite tracks are the dreamier ones like Strange and Anne With An E.
