Karl and Rickys thoughts on Pilkipedia?

Postby Manhole Cover » Wed 18 Jan, 2012 11:18 pm

Ricky's latest blog post:

My 21st appearance on David Letterman was possibly my favourite one.
So free and easy, like two grumpy old mates down the pub. I had to keep reminding him we were on the telly.

I'll be back on in April promoting season 3 of The Ricky Gervais Show. But before that I'll be doing a few chat shows in February to plug Life's Too Short. Any excuse to spend time in New York.

And before that of course, An Idiot Abroad 2 starts on Science this Saturday.

I just spoke to Karl actually. He was moaning. No, honestly, he was.
He had read some article that mentioned a fan site. "It's not a fan site," he said. "All they do is slag us off. They don't like anything except the Xfm shows. Nob 'eds."

I said, "Why are you reading forums?"
He said, "Cos it gets me heart going."
I said, "It's probably visited by about 20 teenagers with nothing better to do. Why do you care?"
He said, "It is now, because, when someone new joins and says something nice about us, they get battered and don't visit it again. I want to turn off the internet."

Ha ha. He's got a point.

I come here so rarely these days, is he right? I thought we only slagged off Ricky here..actually thinking about it, some people moaned about AIA2 aswell, didn't they? Haha, it's bizarre getting Ricky's and Karl's point of view. RICKY AND KARL, PILKIPEDIA IS ALRIGHT, NOT ALL OF US ARE WHINY NOB'EDS. (capital letters to get their attention). Don't fault us for revering the XFM shows, they were absolutely magical, and nothing can ever compare, but that's alright. We love most of the stuff you've ever done, atleast I do.

Err.. except LTS really was shit, sorry.

Never seen anyone on here slag off Karl. An Idiot Abroad was almost universally liked.

Ricky on the other hand...

Teenagers with nothing to do is such a lazy stereotype.

I'm 22 and have nothing to do.

Haha, blimey. That's easily the most we've been hinted at by one of the lads, surely?

HAI KARL!

Pretty sure everyone here universally loves Karl and pretty much the aspects of the shows that feature him. Why would he object to us ''slagging'' off Ricky and Steve for not letting him be happy and do AIA his way instead of prodding him with a stick all the time? Can't see why he'd be offended by that...

Nob 'eds is a bit uncalled for, don't start getting all crotchety towards your fans you bald manc spherical cranium orange domed twonk (hope you're reading this), we aren't all like the mentals down the pub asking for catchphrases and pictures, no matter what Ricky/Extras would have you believe

I think it's more of a case of Karl sticking up for his mate (Ricky does get slagged off an awful lot)

Love Karl, can't stand Ricky these days. XFM, Idiot Abroad, every interview with Karl I've ever heard - love them all. He's brilliant, unpretentious and more spontaneously funny than so many 'proper' comedians. It's just that the guy who discovered Karl and brought him to the world's attention now takes photos of his own awards, talks of 'haters' and the 'pc brigade' and thinks jokes pointing out the homosexuality of celebrities are cutting edge.

Bit gutted about this. Karl, I pretty much love everything you have ever done.
Don't do it.

"when someone new joins and says something nice about us, they get battered" - has that happened? Always seemed like a friendly place to me.

It's sad Karl got that impression of this place cos obviously it's really not like that. It's even more saddening cos I think it's really cool he takes an interest in what fans think, even if it is to get his heart racing with annoyance, and I think if only he knew what people's real love and admiration and gratitude towards RSK was, he'd have such a different opinion. They clearly think it's a bunch of fickle dickheads who sit around feeling entitled, like Comic Book Guy's "as a loyal viewer I feel they owe me" attitude, when the slagging off of Ricky lately has ironically been from a bunch of people who deep down love him a ton more than those tweeting to him about how LOL life's too short is.

I'd say that there's more of their works that we do like than that we don't. What's hated on other than Life's Too Short, The Intenvention of Lying and Ricky's recent attitude/twitter douchebaggery?
Ricky: What do you mean, they've got a chicken with teeth? What the FFF - what do you mean there's a chicken with teeth!

Karl: Sounds mad, dunnit.

Spot on. I think the guys have made their minds up about us 'mentalist' fans though, so the criticism is just going to be an ungrateful fanbase to them.
