The joke is that Warwick feels justified in trying to find the person. He gets to the class and starts talking, and is noticeably emboldened when he gets a few laughs from the kids. Just as he's getting caught up in his success and feels like justice is being done, the kid is revealed to be disabled and the situation flips on its head, now he's crucifying a disabled boy in front of his class.

There, I've explained it, now it is funny.

Agreed. Well, he penned all those 'short' jokes that we were all supposed to laugh at, again and again and again. I don't think I laughed at a single one of them. I was over the fact that Warwick is short after about 6 seconds into the first episode. Ricky doesn't get tired of Warwick's shortness all series and probably still isn't over it.

I don't care how many jokes there are on the disabled and dwarfs, as long as they're good. The intro to Politics and the follow-up material in the opening dialogue was great, for example. Most LTS material was just weak at best, cringe-worthy at worst.
If I was listening to me on the radio, I wouldn't be able to say, "oh, he's a...", ya know? And slag me off an' that, 'cause I don't know what I look like, and I quite like that.

They can both be arseholes, but why does the second arsehole have to be in a wheelchair?

Are you daft or trolling?

My main real issue with that scene is that it just felt far too much of a rehash of the 'Downs Syndrome kid in a restaurant' bit from Extras. The protagonist being annoying/offended by them, complaining about them, then discovering they're actually disabled and it going 'public', the big difference being it was much more believable and funny in Extras.

Maybe i'm thinking crazy, but do you think Ricky was somehow channelling his dislike for our site, with the whole "internet warrior" portrayl in LTS

I highly doubt it. He started getting annoyed at us when we started having a go at his work. This was quite rare before LTS, to my knowledge

I guess there was Invention of Lying and Science

But no, I wouldn't have thought so

Oooh I wouldn't be so sure on that, it's been speculated for at least the past couple of years due to some of his blog posts, it's just become so much heightened recently due to his constant Twittering.

Example: viewtopic.php?p=140289#p140289
Ricky's blog from early 2009 wrote:I may well find things that I don't find funny, but I promise I won't try to deconstruct the "so called humour" on forums read by 12 other losers as that would be as constructive as writing things in shit on a toilet wall.

No, instead I will show Ricky how comedy should be done and become more successful than him, as the best revenge is living well.

There's that scene in the trailer for Project X where a "little guy" comes out of oven and I thought of Ricky. He would laugh hysterically at that for hours.

Oh my ... Guess I haven't been round long enough

Well then, still dunno if that scene was written with Pilkipedia in mind, but I suppose it may have had "dorky message boards" in general in mind

I don't know. I wouldn't have thought it was intentional (and likely wouldn't have just been about Pilkipedia), but it did amuse me too, that most of that episode revolved around the star getting mocked on the internet, and tracking the person down to find out that not only is he a child, he's a disabled child. Who then gets bullied by the rest of his classmates. Away from the internet, he's weak in every way, and the star has all of the kid's classmates laughing at his jokes. It's just so... blatant. I don't know/think if it was really a middle finger for his critics or whatever, but I could believe it was a dig at people who use the internet like that.
