Desert Island RiSKs

Postby DasLankyGogglEye » Sat 28 Apr, 2012 9:10 pm

You're going to be stranded on a desert island for a year. You're allowed to take Ricky, Steve or Karl with you to keep you amused, but only one of them. Which do you take?

Who would take Ricky though?

Probably Steve.

You know, after much deliberation I realised I'd probably take Ricky.

As great as it would be to meet any of the 3 in person, I think a year on a desert island with any of them would be hell

Steve would probably complain the least
If I was listening to me on the radio, I wouldn't be able to say, "oh, he's a...", ya know? And slag me off an' that, 'cause I don't know what I look like, and I quite like that.

Karl, because you wouldn't be stuck for conversation topic and he's done this sort of thing once before.
"Do you want a sandwich? Here's a sandwich". And then next year "Can I have a sandwich?" "What happened to your brother?" "He died."

Steve would be the lesser of three evils. All three would be hell though.
Everyone is saying "Gabbo this" and "Gabbo that". But no one is saying "Worship this" and "Jericho that"!

Ricky. Whilst he's an ass on twitter now, I still find him likeable in interviews nowadays. Steve would wind me up, I reckon he'd moan a lot. Karl would wind me up, because he'd keep asking irritating questions about things he saw, and when he wasn't doing that, he'd be whinging. Whilst Ricky would be screeching and squawking, I find that amusing.

Can't believe people are picking Steve. He's a frail, neurotic nerd. He'd be no help at all. Except maybe for picking fruit off trees.

Not to mention the endless hilarity of seeing him hit his head on low branches. That's a pretty important factor.

You know, this very nearly sold the idea to me. I love a bit of the Smerch but I think he'd wind me up horribly if he was my only human company.

I toyed with the idea of Karl since he's quite handy so he might be useful at building a shelter but I think he's just too miserable. Ricky would at least keep being amusing.

Thing is with Ricky, it all depends how you deal with him. Steve mentions it at some point, saying something like "You give him an inch, he takes a yard". Robin Ince, Karly Pilkboids, Nigel (the editor), they've all rolled over and taken shit from him, and he's seen it as weakness, so he keeps on at them. Steve stopped him early on, so he doesn't do stuff like squeezing steves head or wrestling him to the floor. Assuming you can stop Ricky early, he'd probably be pretty bearable for a while.

Thats an ineteresting thought, but can I remind you that Steve has repeatedly said that Ricky is the most annoying person in the world and spending extended periods of time with him is like a living hell
