:(

Aye, heard about this... Bad times. :( Still, early stages though so hopefully it won't be too bad.

Found this good series of podcasts for fans of proper (non-screamo/metalcore/bollocks) heavy metal, it's a good mix of older and newer bands with enough songs I'd never heard before. Also one of our new songs is played about half an hour into it.

Am listening to "The Count of Tuscany" by Dream Theater for the first time. Wowzers.
How can you expect to defeat me when you are just a man and I am forever?

Aye s'good that. Not my favourite track from that album though, mine would be 'A Nightmare to Remember'.

Do yourself a favour and check out Iron Reagan's first demo. It's a new project featuring members of Municipal Waste and Darkest Hour and it's utterly brilliant. They're like a mix of thrash, hardcore and punk. http://ironreagan.bandcamp.com/ You can download the demo there, you can listen to it on youtube first if you want, it's only just over five minutes.

I couldn't recommend it enough.

Alright then.

More drama in the Black Sabbath reunion saga:

After months of rumours, hype, build up and eventual confirmation, turns out they hadn't even all signed their contracts before it was announced. I blame Sharon Osbourne, the old cunt.

I'm not the most knowledgeable in metal music, but I do listen to a few bands here and there, and I'd like to check out some more. Maybe this thread will teach me something.

Anyway, I got into Oomph! recently. They have a new album coming out in about a week's time. I'll be on the lookout for that.

Never got into Oomph!, heard a few of their tracks a while back and they just sounded a bit like Rammstein-but-not-as-good-as-Rammstein, and I'm not a massive Rammstein fan anyway.

Any song recommendations?

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is this one, and that's just because I've gotten hooked on it.

Also, I found your comment about Oomph! being a not-so-good version of Rammstein interesting, considering Oomph! is the pioneer of that genre of music and actually served as an inspiration to Rammstein (who I love, by the way...perhaps more than I should, but I don't care).

Once I get more familiar with them, I can compile a playlist for you, if you'd like one.

If you like Rammstein, Sticky, you should listen to Eisbrecher.

At first I was like yeah, rip-off of Rammstein.

Then time went on and I heard more stuff and I came to the inescapable conclusion; "BETTER than Rammstein."
"Steve's made you look like a bit of a twat already, and it's only five past one."

Yeah... But all that makes no difference to me, as I'd heard of Rammstein first, know more by them, and have seen them live. Oomph! aren't really a band you hear mentioned very often by comparison so I've only heard bits and pieces which sounded very similar, but not as good, as some of Rammstein's best stuff.
I'll check 'em out and give that song a listen though.

Oooh, you saw them live? When and where? I have friends going to the Houston show later this month. I wish I was able to go, but alas, I couldn't make it happen. :/
