Been doing a re-watch.

I love the scene where Brent goes to the pub with the Swindon lot. The small talk about pubs is fantastic.

Are there any easter eggs on the series 2 DVD? I've found (online) the ones for series 1 and the Christmas special but I haven't found any for series 2.

Just re-watched this again and it always gives me some hope that the old Ricky will come back one day in a blaze of comedy glory.
Even the swap meets around here are getting pretty corrupt.

I had a quick question. I've been rewatching the show on Hulu, and I was wondering - did Ricky get only the 1st season commissioned by the BBC, and then given a 2nd one after the show was given a good reputation?

Yeah they only commission one season at a time, if it had been a critical flop it may not have come back.

Hence why there's no second season of Life's Too Short.

I listened to a short interview with her last night and she said he touched her on her back and shoulder for 5, 6 or 7 seconds longer than was appropriate. Next.

Its frustrating that the majority of people I talk to in the US are unaware of the original series and have no clue how much better it is! While I do love certain moments, characters and storylines of our version, it is just garbage in comparison to the original.

You can tell that the producers' original intentions were to basically clone the series, minus the accents and idiolect, but they quickly Americanized everything about it by season 2. Michael Scott's weightloss, tan and sudden hair growth were probably the most obvious examples.

I'd say less than 10% of people I know personally could even identify a picture of David Brent or any other characters from the UK series but all of those few who are familiar with the original series prefers it over our version and absolutely loves it. So, my question is: does the UK air the US series and how is it generally received? Or, is it something that no one cares about at all and basically been ignored?

It's a shame you know dim people. My friends here in America - at least the ones genuinely interested in comedy - are fully acquainted with the original Office, though perhaps not to the depth we on this forum are. However, I've also learned that it's unfair to expect everyone around me to share my interests. There are some people who'd find it just as annoying that I can only put names to faces for two or three professional wrestlers.

I maintain that the American Office eventually developed its own identity and, if you can treat it as a separate show, was a solid sitcom with good writing through most of its first four seasons, after which it undeniably went to hell. I'll let the UK folks express themselves from here on out.

Yeah, it's shown in the UK. Usually billed as "The Office: An American Workplace" You don't really hear very much about it though (outside of the internet). I don't follow it personally, I watched a few episodes of the first series when it first aired and found it inferior in every aspect and eventually gave up with it, seen a few of the later episodes here and there and it does nothing for me, I don't know why they still bother filming it in the 'documentary' style, as all the main elements of that format seem to have been lost.
