Karl intentionally making joke, or laughing?

Postby BoilerNeedsFixin » Thu 19 Jul, 2012 10:38 am

I was gonna make two threads, but decided to merge them together as they are closely related.

I think it took getting through all the podcasts, and well into the XFM episodes until I actually heard Karl laughing. It fascinated me a little as he spends most time moaning, and usually it's Ricky and Steve who does all the laughing. Anyone remember any discussions that has made Karl laugh?

Second part:
I know there are a few good jokes on Steven from Karl's side, but there's also other times when he intentionally makes funny/cynical remarks.
Like one time when ricky is asking whether auntie nora with the "split tennis ball" is also the auntie who puts fringes on everything to cover things up;
Karl: "well not everything, obviously!"

Also he refers the hippo in An idiot Abroad 2, to look like Susanne from behind.

Any other good jokes or remarks made by k-man?

If I was listening to me on the radio, I wouldn't be able to say, "oh, he's a...", ya know? And slag me off an' that, 'cause I don't know what I look like, and I quite like that.

R: It's the auntie who farted for five minutes and showed you her fanny what looked like a split tennis ball.
K: So it could be any of my aunties.

Had me laughing for a good 5 minutes.
Even the swap meets around here are getting pretty corrupt.

Good compilations.

My favorite Karl laugh was when the guy called in about the Springsteen armbands to mock Steve. The combination of Karl's laughter and Steve's confusion/irritation ("piss off!") was brilliant.

What's "That's one of the bigger ones" from? Can't remember.

This thread was needed. Karl blows my mind how witty, retarded, and psychotic he can be at the drop of a hat. Brilliant.

Hahaha... I just read this and then five minutes later that bit cropped up on the episode i am listening to... September 7th 2002, about 47 minutes in... classic moment!

All the better because Steve has just been taking the piss out of Karl and his quiz. :-)

There's a fair few moments in An Idiot Abroad. Quite a lot of jokes, actually - naturally funny bloke - but a few laughs, too.

My favourite, though, is when he's trying to get out of eating that Chinese food, with the smashed up frog, and despite being properly terrified, he point blank doesn't have the energy to go through with a really blatant lie, and instantly falls apart. Amazing.
