IMDB Profile

Cemetery Junction is a forthcoming feature film comedy co-written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The pair are also signed on to co-direct the film and Gervais will play one of the roles. Shooting begins in summer 2009 and the film is expected to premiere in 2010.

The film was originally titled The Man from the Pru yet the Prudential was not pleased with how they are to be portrayed in the film. The new title comes from the name of a road junction in the East Reading district of the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire where the film takes place.

Plot

Cemetery Junction is set in the 1970's in Reading, Berkshire, the same town where Gervais himself grew up. It follows two twenty-somethings who work as building society clerks. According to Gervais, it is a "coming of age" story that is a cross between The Office and Mad Men.<ref>The Independent 18 August 2008</ref>

Cast

So far the only cast members confirmed are Gervais, who will play the father of one of the twenty-somethings, and Ralph Fiennes.<ref>Obsessed with Film 9 April 2009</ref>
