24 November 2001 and it's Steve Merchant's Birthday. Both he and Ricky are hungover after going out (separately) the previous night.

Track Listing

1. Steve's Birthday
Steve is 27 today. Karl starts early with a dig - he thinks he looks older than that.

2. Steve's Birthday Presents:
Steve's Father once gave him The Wartime Speeches Of Winston Churchill on his birthday. A very attractive girl saw him listening to it with his father, to his embarassment.

3. Steve's Night Out
Rick & Steve discuss VH1's Top 100 Albums of all time. #1 Joshua Tree - U2. They feel comfortable with it being the Beatles or the Beach Boys, but not U2. Robbie Williams - "just a collection of words"
Steve went out and got "a little bit wasted" last night. He got into the Monarch for free and managed to get his mates a pound off, as a discount for Xfm Djs. He also thinks he agreed that Ricky would DJ there, but can't remember. He goes on to tell another story, about being stuck in a queue alone with a few ladies nearby. He grabbed the doorman and gave him 7 pounds for 10 pound entry fee as a tip. Stephen realizes when telling the anecdote that he was wrong and that it was a 5 pound entry fee. "Oh, can I go to bed..."

4. Running Out Of Steam
Both Ricky and Steve are tired, and hungover, and have run out of steam. Out of desparation they turn to Karl to liven things up. He does, by commenting "I was just thinking, there is nobody else who looks like Steve"

5. Steve's Trip To Salem
Christian O'Connell gets to give away a trip to Salem. Steve mentions it being a poor trip. The whole place is full of people dressed as witches. Boris Karlof World of Terror, you walk in the door, put on some 3d glasses, and couldn't tell the difference between the glasses working or not. It took about 45 seconds to get through the maze. He always missed all the frights because he was at the back of the group and the man had already jumped out to scare people, but he was too far back to see him.

6. Ricky's Go-Cart
Ricky's best present as a kid was a go-kart he got for Christmas. The go-kart was always back against the shed, but one day it was gone. He asked his mother and she tells him that his father swapped it for a wheel-barrow. His father swapped it from a bloke named Jimmy Dublin. The wheel-barrow was caked in cement like it was just nicked from a construction site. Ricky played with it up and down the garden. Ricky went to Bognar with his mom and his nan in a caravan. He met a little friend his age who hired a go-kart and he came around to Ricky's caravan. Ricky said he had a go-kart and his mother poked her head out of the caravan window and said, "Don't lie."

7. Steve Drags Karl Down
Karl blames Steve for bringing down the show, because of his attitude.
Song for the Lovers: Jimmy Webb - Galveston

8. Karl's Lack Of Birthday Presents
Steve describes more gifts from his father: "The Making Of Thriller", which did not include the actual Thriller music video, and a trowel and industrial size jar of coffee for his mother. Karl accuses Stephen of being ungrateful and selfish. Karl didn't get many presents, as a kid, because his family "didn't really celebrate birthdays".
Run for the Covers: Spare Snare - "Say My Name"

9. We Should Only Do 6 Weeks A Year
The show is going badly, and Rick and Steve decide they should only do 6 shows a year. Listeners should email to get them off the air if they are not enjoying the show. They have seen the truth because they both hungover.

10. We'll Be Really Good Next Week
. Steve realises that Karl looks like Moby. Ricky likes Moby as a person, but not his music. The lads promise to be much better next week.
Song For The Ladies: Badly Drawn Boy - Magic In The Air

Quotes

Karl: if he's 27 today, he would have been 26 last week, and he doesn't look 26 - he didn't look 26 last week, and he looks older than 28 today
