Suede were a popular British rock band of the 1990s that helped to start the Britpop musical movement.

The band formed in 1989 and were managed by Ricky Gervais for a brief period before they were signed to a record label and made their claim to fame.

The band later became a massive success in the 1990s with their debut album reaching number 1 and releasing seven top 10 singles. The band were arguably as big in the UK in the 90s (at least in terms of popularity) as The Smiths were in the 80s, or Roxy Music in the 70s. [1]
