Hairy Chinese Kid

The Hairy Chinese Kid (Yu Zhenhuan) was first mentioned on 12 October 2002 during Karl's first ever edition of Educating Ricky.

Karl revealed the child was indeed quite hairy and apparently had trouble hearing due to a build up of hair in his ears. The Hairy Chinese Kid was mentioned now and again on subsequent XFM shows, and was used in the first edition of Songs Of Phrase.

Yu was born in the city of Anshan in the Chinese province of Anshan in 1979 but began growing thick body hair at the age of two that eventually covered approximately 96% of his body. <ref>http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/howaboutthat/6206869/Chinas-hairiest-man-Yu-Zhenhuan-undertakes-laser-hair-removal-treatment.html</ref>

In 2008, Yu Zhenhuan signed up with an online dating agency with the hope of finding a girlfriend. He called himself King Kong because of his "big heart and hairy exterior", and added "I am being honest with any new partners - I tell them at the start that I am listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the hairiest man in the world." <ref>http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-509984/Worlds-hairiest-man-signs-online-dating-agency.html</ref> Later in 2009, following an unsuccessful attempt to remove his body hair using laser treatment, Zhenhuan was to marry his girlfriend whom he met at a friend's party. <ref>http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2478193.html</ref>

As well as being incredibly hairy, The Hairy Chinese Kid is an aspiring rock star and has used his unusual condition to launch something of a music career. He can be seen here on Chinese television performing a cover of Elton John's Can You Feel The Love Tonight? and displaying some cutting edge dance moves on this show <ref>http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-08/18/content_366554.htm</ref>
