Automatic tattoo machine
Austrian artist Niki Passath developed the robotic tattoo machine known as Kurt. Kurt runs on the Palm OS and, when strapped to your arm, replicates the image drawn on its PDA screen by injecting ink through 4 needles.<ref>http://www.tattooique.com/info/would-you-like-a-tattoo-made-by-robot/</ref> Karl discussed this device during Educating Ricky under the snappy title 'why don't they just get a diary or some paper or something to write on?'. The segment was apparently motivated by Karl's inability to comprehend the allure of tattooing and by his general fear/distrust/bewilderment of mechanisation. Steve is curious about cleaning the device and whether it creates an actual, permanent tattoo, while Ricky ponders whether it uses a single needle or multiple needles. Naturally, Karl can provide no details, but the conversation segues into a discussion of Tattoo Stan and other mates of Karl's dad.
