Ben Folds is an American musician and singer. His songs were occasionally played on both the Xfm show and The Steve Show.

Career

Ben Folds Five

Ben Folds formed the band "Ben Folds Five" with bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee in 1994. Ben Folds Five released their self-titled album in 1995. In 1997, Ben Folds Five released their second album "Whatever and Amen" which spawned the hit "Brick". In 1999, Ben Folds Five released their final album "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner". Ben Folds went solo in October 2000.

Solo Career

Ben Folds's first solo album,"Rockin' The Suburbs", was released in 2001, on which Ben Folds played all the instruments. In late 2003 Folds released two EPs, "Speedy Graphic" and "Sunny 16". He later released another EP in mid-2004 entitled "Super D". A compilation LP was later released in 2006, containing songs from all three EPs. Ben Folds's second solo album,"Songs For Silverman", was released in 2005. The album featured Jared Reynolds and Lindsay Jamieson on drums. "Way To Normal", Folds's third solo album, was released in 2008 following a fake leak. The song "You Don't Know Me" featured Regina Spektor on guest vocals. Before Way To Normal was released, Folds announced he planned to record an album with author Nick Hornby.
